Participants will gain an understanding of various marketing techniques including print, online, social media, influencer marketing, word-of-mouth, viral, special events, and guerilla marketing and how they can benefit your business.

Featured Speaker: Krista Hershberger, Director of Marketing at Greater Iowa City, Inc.

As the Director of Marketing at Greater Iowa City, Inc., Krista guides the communication strategy, marketing campaigns, and branding for a prominent community resource. She led the development and implementation of the organization’s new brand after merging in the summer of 2023. Working in an organization that serves a variety of members, from small and emerging businesses to established companies, Krista advises and supports marketing efforts of many shapes and sizes. With former freelance and small business experience, Krista has a knack for cost effective strategies that leverage community support and accessible resources. She specializes in strategies that create engaging stories through authentic messages and creative channels. Outside of work, Krista uses her communication skillset to promote the local activities, spaces, and groups that she loves, such as social dance groups, farmers markets, and community arts.
